Catcher prospects for a keeper league?

Postby cards_fan_8537 » Fri Apr 02, 2004 12:06 am

Are there any other guys besides Mauer who could be good prospects for C later down the line? Im in a 12 team keeper league, so I can afford to wait a while. I also want to upgrade my C for the here and now and dont know who I should go after with trades b/c there isnt much left on the ww. I was thinking about trading Ramierez for Varitek b/c they seem to be comprable on most cheat sheets Ive seen, but I hesitate to give up a relatively young guy with potential for an older guy like Varitek. Anyway enough rambling time for me to shut up and let the experts take it from here.

Nice list by Deafeddie. For the long term, I'd add Justin Huber, too.

Check out Ramon Castro, while you're at it. Starting this year for the Fish.

Would it be wise to drop LaDuca or anyone else on my bench for any of these guys? Perhaps Castro since he'll be starting?

LoDuca still probably grades out ahead of these guys for this year - especially with his position eligibility at 3 spots.

I'd wait 1-2 weeks probably as my preference is to play for the current year rather than planning my keepers for next year at this point of the season.

Yes, I agree. Potential to hit 20+ HRs for the defending champs...
