Latos for Gardner?

Postby silverZ » Mon Apr 23, 2012 10:58 am

5x5 roto, I'm desperate for some speed. I'm already 30+ IP over the pace. Am I giving up on Latos too early? Should I target another speedster out there for him? Gardner should be back May 3rd.

Would rather one of the lower tier arms than Latos, as he's clearly your number 2 (at least until Matt Moore figures things out). At the very least, I'd wait a couple weeks to make sure Gardner comes back healthy and see if Latos's value increases.

Help if you can?

I'm worried that Latos struggles are real and once Gardner comes back I won't be able to land him. You're right though, I'm probably overreacting with the small sample size. He is dealing with a .373 BABIP and 57% LOB. The K's are down and the walks are up which worries me... :-? I really don't know what to do with him.

If you want to comfort yourself about Latos just look at his April numbers from the past 2 years. Pretty ugly. In addition his velocity still seems okay. I've been trying to buy him low for the past few days, so I am still reasonably high on him.
