Kendrys for Heyward, WHIR

Postby saemick » Sun Apr 22, 2012 10:03 pm

I desperately need some power. 3 weeks in a row,I'm getting killed in all the hitting categories. I was just offered the following trade:

I give: Kendrys Morales
I get: Jason Heyward

here's my current roster:

12-team 6x6 H2H Yahoo! NON-KEEPER league
c: Jesus Montero
1b: Miggy
2b: Uggla
ss: D. Gordon
3b: Wright
IF: Reynolds
OF: J. Upton, Bruce, Bourjos
Utl: K. Morales
BN: B. Harper, Doumit (till Jesus gets C eligible)
SP: Bumgarner, Price, Gio, Zimmerman, Minor, Bard, Drabeck
RP: Santos, Guerra, Myers, HanK-Rod, Holland, Castillo
Stat categories: Hitters: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS Pitchers: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, QS

do I pull the trigger on this one?

Sure I'd do it. Also in a 12 team non keeper why in the heck are you rostering Harper? Drop his tail and pick up someone productive.

I gotta ask; if you say do the trade, but also that it's more of a lateral movement; then why exactly should I pull the trigger?

Does anyone think Kendrys has a chance to out produce Heyward?

according to Zips...Heyward will get more at bats this year and will probably had 5 to 10 more HRs by years end...so I take Heyward.

I'd make that trade in a heartbeat.

I agree that at least in the power department it is more of a lateral move anything. Both are question marks but both could end the season with about 25+ HR. Heyward will give you some SB as well.

I also think Heyward is slightly more a sure thing than Morales is. You just don't know how Morales will hold up over a full season after missing almost 2 years. When August comes around, he could hit a major wall.
