He has struggled throughout his career(2009, 2010, and 2011) in the minors during the month of April. Heck last year, Rays fans were calling for him to go back to High A because his April in Double A start was so bad. I say give him a few more starts to get it figured all out and he will be just fine.
His command has been off. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until June. His stuff is still ace quality. He's just been walking too many guys which has led to fastballs down the middle in fastball counts.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
Yes he has been a little wild but I have seen two of his games and he was getting squeezed by the plate umpire. A strike is a strike whether you are a rookie or a vet. And to his credit at least two of the base on balls were intentional. I have never agree with that stat going against the pitcher. I think he will be just fine.
Didn't this guy shut out the Rangers in the playoffs last season? Not sure if we should be worried about him at all, unless there are minor injuries nobody is privy to.
I really can't be worried at all...against the Yankees and Rangers he looked like an ace, he's very young still of course, and his peripherals over the course of his whole body of MLB work last year suggest he is capable of being a top 5 pitcher in the league.
If you trade Moore away I think you're an idiot.
Why don't they just get a house that's already painted?
I just think it's all been his command...which really isn't something that's caused him too many problems before so I think he can bounce back from it without too much trouble. Perfect guy to buy low on if you can.
Just checked, Yahoo! update on Moore states he normally has a slow start. That, and his owner doesn't really have any compatible needs I can improve in a trade.
