So my pitching is suffering a little, and I'd like to improve it. I am wondering if I am giving up too much, however, in this potential offer:
Miguel Cabrera and either Justin Masterson FOR Dan Haren and Ian Kinsler
In his lineup, Cabrera replaces Kinsler, as he has Kinsler at UT. For my team, Cabrera would be replaced by a Free Agent from the following list: Casey Kotchman/Chris Parmelee/Daric Barton/Chris Davis. Kinsler would replace Alexi Casilla.
Have not yet made the offer. Thoughts? Sorry, I forgot to mention that it was an AL Only league (edited).

I wouldn't. Miggy should get more than that. I'd trade Miggy for a top 10 pitcher and a hitter that has a bit of a more established history of health/performance.

It would help to see the rest of your lineup and the type of league you're in and how many teams, before giving a definitive answer. Kinsler would give raw stats and incr. SB, but lower ave compared to Miggy. Haren is a good pickup, but don't really like your options to replace Miggy.

By the way, in an AL Only, Dan haren is definitely a top 10 pitcher, if not Top 5.
Well, looking through the thread again, while one could theoretically guess that it was AL Only based on all the names mentioned, it was never actually stated. Knowing that it's AL-only the trade I suppose is slightly better, but I still wouldn't trade Miggy for anything short of a great haul. I'd only call that trade a good haul.

I was able to draft him only at 1b. Including my bench, I like to have a backup for every position.
My CR is now (and would become 1b) Justin Morneau. I would want someone to back him up. I could go with one of these other names, but then I would not have as much backup benefit, so it would need to be obvious (though Morneau would be my only player without a backup then, and he would if Billy Butler plays 10 games at 1b):
Marlon Byrd Shelley Duncan Eric Thames/Travis Snider Jonny Gomes Andy Dirks
(I have an OF who qualifies at 3b, so I can make that switch to CR).
I'd actually see if you can try to pawn Morneau off on someone for a SP before I'd dangle Miggy out there. At this point in the season, and at any point as long as he's playing, he should demand a king's ransom.
