I need HELP with 2 trade offers!

Postby Macuss » Sat Apr 21, 2012 11:40 am

Hey guys, I'm in a 12 team keeper league where you can't keep players at the same position with the exceptions of OF and SP. My keepers are,

Ian Kinsler
Evan Longoria
Hanley Ramirez
Mike Stanton
Bryce Harper
Clayton Kershaw
Jered Weaver
Stephen Strasberg
Jonathan Papelbon

I was offered Starlin Castro and Alex Gordon or Jayson Werth for Hanley Ramirez. Now I'm worried that Hanley won't be SS eligible next season so should i deal him seeing as i have Longo? The next trade i was offered was Matt Garza for my Mark Teixeria. I have Billy Butler, Mark Trumbo, and Justin Morneau to fill his shoes if i trade him. What do you guys think?
C- Iannetta, 1st- Tex, 2nd- Kinsler, 3rd- Longo, SS- Lowrie
OF- Cargo, Stanton, LoMo, Trout, Harper, Trumbo, Ross, LaHair
UTL- Morneau, Encarnacion, V-Mart

SP- Kershaw, Weaver, Strasberg, Peavy, Holland, Harrison, Nolasco
RP- Paps, Myers, Reed, Storen

I really like Castro long term. I do think that it's too early to make that type of a move right now though. Reyes could get hurt tomorrow and who knows. To accept right now I would like to see that OF option improved upon ... then maybe. Even if you needed to include one of your guys.

I am not a Tex fan, but you're selling him too short there. Hold him for now. He's a slow starter and will reward those that are patient.

great advice from element. Same thoughts. Hanley is still very valuable with his SS position. I wouldn't consider Tex for garza.

I feel like you can sell Tex for A LOT more. And who knows... Hanley can outperform Longoria this season. Remember, Hanley was a top 5 pick for years prior to this for a very good reason. There is no rush to trade him away. Jose Reyes is injury prone so you never know, Hanley could very well see a few games a SS this season, no need to panic just yet.

Be patient with Tex, he's known for starting the season off very slow (.241/.350/.423 career triple slash numbers in the month of April), so be sure to sell him in May or June when he is at his maximum value... Or just hold on to him, I know that I would. ;-D
