Big Trade, multiple offers

Postby schrodingerstigers » Fri Apr 20, 2012 8:50 pm

So I'm in the middle of some trade offers, all from the same guy. Seems he really wants Michael Young and Jason Heyward for various combinations of his players:

Young and Heyward for Ryan Zimmerman, Jhonny Peralta and Mat Latos

Heyward and A-Rod for for Zimmerman and Peralta

Heyward and Mike Napoli for Zimmerman, Alex Avila and Latos

Heyward and Napoli for Zimmerman, Avila and Peralta

I could do without Heyward but I really want to keep Young. Maybe go with Latos but ask for a better pitcher?

I don't need a better catcher in Avila because I have Piercynszki and Rollins is my SS not sure I want to replace him for Peralta. And my utility has A-Rod, Butler and Napoli

Can you post your whole roster? That would really help.

Unless you really need a 3B (which Young should qualify at?) then I don't like any of those deals for you.

Of the deals above, the only one I'd even consider is the second one, but that is even a stretch. If I were you, I'd be holding onto Young and Napoli without a doubt. If someone wants either, you've got to make them pay for it. Latos would be a nice little buy low if you could work something out around Heyward for him.

I don't really love any of those offers for you. Since he seems to want them so bad, why don't you counter with an offer that gets you more value than you are giving and see if he accepts?

None of those deals are good for you. Zimmerman is a good player to get but you then should get just one more very solid player. Hard do say who that should be without seeing both rosters though.
