14 team, 5 keeper league - My Holliday for his Heyward

Postby BALCO All-Stars » Fri Apr 20, 2012 7:24 pm

14 team, 5 keepers, roto league. Current keepers are Pedroia/Holliday/Hamels/Howard/Rollins. I'm off to a bad start, but it's only April so who cares. But I have thought about trading away Holliday this year for a younger keeper as I only have two guys under 30 as keepers, so I was surprised to see this offer come my way. We only start offensively: C/1B/2B/3B/SS/OF/OF/OF/U.

Thoughts on my Holliday for his Heyward?

Thoughts on Heyward finally producing like everyone thought a couple of years ago? I'm a believer in trading away older keepers one year too early than one year too late, so I have no quarrels trading away Holliday for a player of Heyward's keeper ceiling.

Settle down, Beavis....

I also believe in Heyward, but that is an awful steep price to pay. With only 5 keepers, age matters less. I would like to add another player in this deal.

Very interesting trade... I would probably pass though.

This trade has a very high ceiling, but also a low floor. Heyward could be big time... for year to come. But he could also be off to a big start [this year] and fade back into mediocrity just as fast. Nothing against heyward, I think he's a star, possible stud. Giving up Holliday is a pretty big commitment though.

I would at least wait a couple of months. If he's not interested in waiting, then what does that tell you: selling high.
