Should I take this deal or counter? He might also do Ethier for Beachy straight up but I would rather get a solid SP back.
I give: Delmon Young and Brandon Beachy I get: Andre Ethier and Neftali Feliz

To clarify, he basically threw out the ethier for beachy deal and i suggested we each get a piece back. Is Feliz the right one of his pitchers to target? I know he is reasonably fond of Delmon Young.
I actually don't like this for you. You're losing the best player in the deal (Beachy). Feliz is good but Beachy will give you better numbers. Don't buy the Ethier hype right now, he'll slow down and you could get him cheaper

I'd try for Lynn first, but would settle on Feliz. That's fine.

Well that's my slight concern .. I pay big bucks for Ethier and he cools off and I get a .240 hitter for 2 months. Is that a legitimate possibility?
Ethier obviously won't continue pace, but he's capable of 25-30 HR and 100 RBI while hitting 0.285+. He's hitting lefties this season which has been his biggest issue. He's also healthy, unlike last season. If I have two players of comparable value like we have here, give me the hitter almost every time. I love Beachy, but Ethier has shown me enough so far for me to believe that he's back. It's also a contract season. I don't like Feliz either (which is why I said try for Lynn), but Delmon is very replaceable. It's a fair deal.
It's not that I don't like him and generally his AVG will never hurt you although he is a very hot/cold hitter, his power is fading a bit and I just don't think he'll keep a really strong pace.
I say go for him but I don't like throwing Beachy away on him
I'm sorry, but I don't understand the trade. You are basically swapping an OF and SP. I don't see why you need to deal a guy like Beachy (who's upside is tremendous) for a guy like Ethier (who will end with a .290 - 20 - 80 - 100 line).
So he wants Young real bad? What about Young and Sale for Ethier and Lynn?
