Is Jermaine Dye capable of a comeback year?

I've got B. Williams, M. Byrd and M. Cameron as back up outfielders, but I know that I definitely need more power in the OF since my starters are Damon, H.Matsui and Ichiro. Does anyone think it's worth dropping one of my back-ups, taking a chance on Dye? What should I do???

id take a chance on him but i think most people would disagree with me...

It is definatly possible but he will need to stay healthy which from recent past is not very likely. If you need power check and see if Burnitz is still available the guy is an absolute power house and at Coors 40+ is a definate posibility.

Dye reported to camp in great shape and has had a decent spring. My OF is weak as well, so I grabbed him. If he doesnt perform I will release him.

i would say he will do alright. im not banking on huge numbers, but i am hoping (cuz im obviously an a's fan).

Drop Byrd and pick up Dye. You already have 2 of's who are lead off men, Ichiro and Damon, you don't need 3 lead off hitters in your OF.

I would not DROP Byrd- try and trade him. Hell I have seen him listed as high as $25 in some magzines!! I would not drop him for DYE for sure. I know you need power but I would not just drop Marlon Byrd. I would trade Damon for someone more respectable before I did that!!

could he have a bounce back season? sure, anything is technically possible. but he is still in a bad offensive line up in a pitchers ball park.
