trade help please

Postby sra9888 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 10:11 pm

Ok. I'm in a 10 team, H2H league. Categories are
Avg, OPS, R, HR, RBI, SB, Cycle
W, Sv, Hld, K, Era, WHIP, No Hitters

Starting lineups are: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, UTIL, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P
We have 25 man rosters with 3 DL spots. One last thing to know is we have 6 keepers next season. You lose the pick in the round you drafted them in the previous year. I will have that listed beside the players involved in the trade. Here is my current roster

C Yadier Molina
C/1B Mike Napoli
1B Ike Davis
2B Kelly Johnson
2B Dustin Ackley
1B/3B Edwin Encarnacion
3B David Wright
SS Jose Reyes
SS Derek Jeter
SS Ian Desmond
OF Ryan Braun
OF Josh Willingham
OF Peter Bourjos
1B/2B/OF Michael Cuddyer
DL OF BJ Upton
SP Felix Hernandez
SP Cole Hamels
SP Ted Lilly
SP Ryan Dempster
SP Johnny Cueto
SP Aaron Harang
RP Heath Bell
RP Luke Gregerson
RP Frank Francisco
RP Hector Santiago
RP Sergio Romo
DL SP Chris Carpenter
DL RP Drew Storen

Here is the deal on the table.

I'm giving up
SS Jose Reyes (4)
OF Ryan Braun (1)
2B Dustin Ackley (11)
SP Felix Hernandez (3)
RP Sergio Romo (25)

I'm being offered:
2B Dustin Pedroia (3)
3B/OF Martin Prado (12)
OF Carl Crawford (8)
SP Ricky Nolasco (25)
RP Francisco Rodriguez (25)
RP Sean Marshall (25)
SP Clayton Kershaw (4)

My thought process for considering the deal is the fact that I think Kershaw will finish this year far superior to Felix. He is playing on a better team and I believe Felix could be falling off so I would like to sell as high as I can. With Reyes getting a new contract and Braun coming off a rocky offseason, I'm not sure how productive they will be, and they've started fairly slow. Ackley is a solid young player, but I think I can live without him. In return I would get Pedroia who should be great at 2B for me, Crawford if he bounces back this year could be a steal as an 8th round pick next season. My main prize in the deal is Kershaw though. I would have him a round later than Hernandez and would be getting a better player in my opinion. Any thoughts on the deal please. Just wondering if I'm missing anything.

No way. You're giving up three outstanding players and only really getting two in return, none of which replace the 1st round talent you lose in Braun.

Thanks for the response. I guess I needa ride out the slow starts of Braun and Reyes. I'm 2-0 in spite of them so far, so once they get going I should be in really good shape
