Our 12 team league has plenty of solid SP available any given day on the WW. I stream SP (usually 2-4 per week) and feel most SP are a dime a dozen.
I'd like to add power to my lineup and see this as a cheap way to add a true power hitter. BUT, I am a little wary of Dunn--it seems like he's swinging better than last year and he's played all 12 G for the Sox so he should get the AB needed to give me +/-30 HR.
I asked for Jay Bruce instead. He seems like a safer bet. Should I still pull the trigger with Dunn if he counters? Thanks.
ESPN, h2h each, 12 team, 4 RP max, daily roster changes. Cats: standard 5x5 plus OPS, QS. Non-keeper. I stream 2-4 SP weekly.

Pretty even. I doubt Bills goes off for a crazy year. mid 4 era 6-7 k/9 10 wins? I dont trust Dunn either, but he can easily drop 40 bombs again.
Id do it.

Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...
Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

Not terrible value, even if Dunn is a roll of the dice this year. Keep in mind that Dunn and Bruce don't even inhabit the same planet, value-wise, and a trade that may land you Dunn almost assuredly won't land you Bruce.

Fenris is right. Bruce, esp in that league, kills Dunn. You will also be taking a big hit with Dunn for the average. Pena will still hurt you for average, but will be a better overall player in your league with the higher OPS, but he is doing well and the owner may not want to let him go.
In your league, Billingsly is a replacement lvl pitcher, so shoot for someone slightly higher than replacement lvl. Maybe try for someone like Ike Davis or Freddie Freeman. Much better overall players. Chris Young would be a good choice also.

Thanks, all. I did counter with Marcum for Bruce but we ultimately settled on Bills for Dunn.
