Darvish vs Detroit

I'm in a roto league.. IP,W,K/9,ERA,WHIP

I'm terrified of this start.

How do you guys think Darvish will do? Are any of you not starting him?

I have Darvish in one of my leagues as well, but it is a head to head so it's a little different. I have both Tommy Hanson and Weaver with 2 starts this week so I got kinda lucky and I am benching him for sure. I am really using this start to gauge what I am going to do going forward. I will be watching the game live to see how his command looks and how I feel about his abilities. Maybe he just has nerves he needs to work through and can actually improve in this start. He is a talented pitcher for sure but sometimes the psyche can really mess you up. But that said he will be riding the pine today for me so he will probably explode for a gem with like 12 k's and no walks LOL. But Detroit is so hot right now that people even consider sitting their aces against them so i wouldn't feel too bad about doing it if I were you.........

Yeah.. My WHIP right now is in a decent place, and like you said, Detroit is hot. But I also think that the Texas lineup is more on fire than Detroit's so a win isn't impossible. I'm not sure what I'll do, but I'm 70/30 sitting him right now.

With Texas a win is definitely possible but at what cost is it worth it? I can get a win off the waiver almost any day of the week that looked better then the last two he got against seemingly good matchups.........

Well.. I ended up starting him. I took a chance and it worked out. The 5 walks is a bit much, but he definitely looked better.

For my scoring the 5 walks would have destroyed me but, I did not start him. If you needed that win and k/BB isn't penalized it was not bad at all. All in all encouraging to see him have a decent start against a difficult line up.
