Upton will not yet need to go on the disabled list for his thumb issue, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Recommendation: Upton saw a hand specialist and the Diamondbacks believe that he will not need enough time off to warrant a DL trip. This seems to imply that he will miss a few games in the short term, so consider him day-to-day still going forward.

This doesn't sound good to me. Rotowire is clearly trying to put a positive spin on it, but I'm not so sure it's not a bigger issue than is being reported. Could be something that lingers all season... I'm officially worried.
