Unfair Trade?

Postby RPDfire007 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 6:02 pm

10 Team H2H league Non-Keeper
Hitting Cats: R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG & Pitching Cats: IP, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP

Team A gets Matt Kemp & Dustin Ackley

Team B gets Andrew McCutchen, Corey Leubke and Eric O'flahnery

Note: Team A just dropped Ackley so I'm viewing the deal as a one for three.

It's definitely an unfair trade, and it doesn't help that McCutchen is sucking and Kemp is blowing the cover off the ball. If this were a keeper league this would be a bit different however it is far too early to start tossing the season for keepers and those guys are not keeper worthy as of right now. If you are commish I'd post a thread and try and get it vetoed.

I'd prefer the Kemp side, but that's not a good reason to veto it. If both managers are acting in the best interest of their team, no trade can be "unfair." Did Manager A get Manager B drunk? Did he sneak into his dorm and propose the trade with the other guy's laptop? No? Then it's a fair trade.

Not vetoable. A lot of people LOVED leubke coming into this year and id say based on where mccutcheon's value was (going in 3rd/4th/5th rounds of drafts) and where kemp's value was (one of the first few picks) luebke makes up that difference. Cutting Ackley aside makes it even more even but with him still there, if he was, cant see a veto on this. Kemp owner wins the deal and former kemp owner may have been able to get more if he shopped him around I would say but wouldnt even think of a veto

Personally as a commissioner I would just talk to the manager who is giving up Kemp and ask about his thought process. If he has a good reason or high hopes for the guys he is getting, let him play his intuition. It's not for anyone in the league to decide who can and can't breakout.

Given that I'm not sure which side of this trade is supposed to be the "big winner" - I guess the guy getting Kemp - I don't think it can be viewed as vetoable...
