I have Cain, Wilson, Weaver, Bedard, Nicasio, Hoch and Lynn as starters Myers, Francisco as two other closers with Robertson, Jansen and Casilla as other RP's. I also have a deal of the table sending Hoch for Romo.
Send J.J. Putz, Ari RP from P to Water Send Cliff Lee, Phi SP from Bench to Water Send Javy Guerra, LAD RP from P to Water Receive Ian Kennedy, Ari SP from Water to Bench Receive Julio Teheran, Atl SP from Water to Bench Receive Jonathon Niese, NYM SP from Water to Bench
On a separate deal, I'd trade Hoch for Romo to secure the Giants closer if I did this deal
So you're trading C Lee, JJ Putz, and Javy Guerra for I Kennedy, J Teheran, J Niese?
If so I'd say you're giving up way too much for young pitching. Putz should have a few years left on him as a closer and Guerra is a nice young closer so far.
Teheran is a big-time prospect, but he still hasn't shown enough that he's a can't miss. Niese looks good so far this year, but its two starts and his track record still gives him a ton of risk to be anywhere near the value of Guerra or Putz for the next few years. I just think you're giving up way, way too much talent.
If you are rebuilding and can do a deal of Lee for Kennedy and Teheran or something like that, I'd be ok with giving up the elite older pitcher. But this deal will hurt your team this year and likely for the next 3 or so years.
