3 way trade, pleae help!!

Postby Jase44 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 3:19 pm

Keeper (10)
8x5 - R, 2B, HR, AVG, RBI, SB, BB, OPS - W ERA WHIP K SV

My Team:

C- J.Montero
1 - Hosmer
2 - Kinsler
3 - ARam
SS - A.Cabrera
OF - C. Young, Bourn, Heyward, A.Jackson
Util - (any BN player)
BN - Kipnis, I Desmond, Joyce, Reynolds, Ramos
DL - Morse

SP - Price, Lewis, Moore, Niese, E.Jackson, Luebke, Jimenez (Pineda & Carp on DL)
RP - Santos, Axford, Aceves

One manager wants C.Young from me bad (I stole him at the draft from him) and he just had Ellsbury go down. Please comment on the following ideas I have:

1. I think he will do Zobrist for Young straight up
2. I flip Kinsler + A Ram to another manager for Sandoval + McCutchen
3. Flip Zobrist + A Ram for Encaranacion + McCutchen
4. Trade Kinsler for CarGo and keep Zobrist at 2nd. (This one I'm not sure on, he has no 2B right now but might take a draft pick to do)
5. Stay with Kinsler, Aram and C.Young

Any thoughts guys?? Much appreciated please leave a link

If you can do A-ram and Zobrist for Encarnacion and McCutcheon I would probably do that. I'm a bit sour on A-Ram this year, and Encarnacion can easily outproduce him.

I am not a Chris Young Fan so I would take Zobrist for him and if you could trade Kinsler for Cargo, it would be a real good set of moves for you. Going for Mccutchen and Sandoval is an OK deal, though it is no bargain. Stay away from Encarnacion...I do not think he is really any good. Maybe this is finally the year he breaks out, but we have heard that before.

Thanks for the help. What about Kinsler for Stanton straight up? Pretty much Young and Kinsler for Zobrist and Stanton?

Kinsler for Stanton straight up is a fair trade. Young is off to a great start and selling him high is imo the right call as he will likely revert to his 230 hitting ways when all is said and done. Getting Cargo for Kinsler I think is a better deal. Getting Mccutchen (the Pirate offense not withstanding) and Sandoval for ARam and Kinsler isn't bad either. There really is no reason to trade Kinsler unless it helps your numbers overall since you can put Zobrist in the OF. Stanton and Kinsler offer similar total value imo.

I like option 2......alot. I have been huge on Sandoval for a while as he could very easily be a top 3 3rd baseman, much better than a-ram. Losing Kinsler wouldn't be devastating because you have kipnis waiting in the wings. You also get mcCutch who is probably better than young.

You trade young for an ace I think because Kipnis can be solid at 2nd all year and you are a little thin at sp.

It sounds like your a trying to sell high on Young, which I think is a good move. I am a fan of Kinsler and I don't think Kipnis will be close to Kinsler numbers. If you can upgrade from Amran I would. Stanton's knee worries me right now. I am not sure if this helps or not.

If you could do #2, I would, but I can't imagine the other guy would go for that.

I agree with this reply. I would do Zobrist for Christ Young and Kinsler for Cargo out of all the scenarios. I never have liked Encarnacion except as a last resort. All the options seem like the are in the vicinity of fair or good for you so which one you ultimately decide on might just have to be old school gut feeling on which guys you like better.
