Howie Kendrick for Espinosa and Choo? WHIR

Postby MurrayKy » Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:30 pm

I'd be giving up Kendrick for Espinosa and Choo.

I'm in a 20-team H2H Cats dynasty where you keep 25 of 29, and start one of each position plus a util, 5 starting pitchers and 5 relievers.

Offense CATS: H, R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, K, BB, SB, CS, AVG
Pitching CATS: ERA, K, BB, K/BB, WHIP, HRA, SV, HD, W, L

C. Ryan Doumit
1b. Adrian Gonzalez
2b. Howie Kendrick
3b. Evan Longoria
Ss. Asdrubal Cabrera
Lf. Desmond Jennings
Cf. Adam Jones
Rf. Hunter Pence
Util. Cameron Maybin
Be. Jean Segura
Be. Ryan Sweeney
Be. Alex Presley
Be. Jurickson Profar
Be. Hak-Ju Lee
Be. Brent Morel
Be. Wilin Rosario
Be. Freddy Galvis
DL. Victor Martinez

Sp. Yovani Gallardo
Sp. Jordan Zimmermann
Sp. Brandon McCarthy
Sp. John Danks
Sp. Ryan Dempster
Rp. Jordan Walden
Rp. Frank Francisco
Rp. Mike Adams
Rp. Darren Oliver
Rp. Joel Peralta
Be. Brian Matusz
Be. Taijuan Walker
Be. Jeff Niemann

I like Choo, but I have Pence; however, I think Choo would be a great guy to throw in the UTIL spot, even though I have Maybin there. However, Espinosa is already losing playing time to Lombardozzi and I really don't have another 2B other than Galvis, who is eligible there for my league. I have Segura too, but he won't be up until 2014 or so.

Is it worth it to get Choo and downgrade from Howie to Espinosa?

Thanks guys! Leave any links you have and I'll help in return.

I'd do that. I like the Espinosa, Choo side.

While I like Kendrick and think he will improve as Pujols heats up (in theory, Kendrick will start to see better pitches to hit), I do think you net quite a bit of talent in this deal. If they can make their way into your lineup with minimal shuffling around on other fronts then take it.

Okay, thanks guys.

However, you think Espinosa will lose time consistently to Lombardozzi? That would leave me without a 2B.

That's a good point.

I would say when in doubt, stand pat if you have the best player in the deal. But what about offering Maybin and Niemann for Choo?

Thanks for your help on my trade.. I would do it, in a 20 teamer depth is important and you get two starters out of this deal
