Trying to get Albert Pujols...WHIR guaranteed

Postby jasonpm311 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:42 am

I get: Albert Pujols and Brandon Phillips

I give: Robinson Cano and Kendrys Morales

12-team H2H mixed keeper league. Our categories are: R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG...K, QS, SV, ERA, WHIP, K/BB

I like Morales's upside, and Phillips's injury scares me; but, it seems like an OK deal for me. What do you guys think?

If I had to guess, since you said "trying to get Pujols" that this is YOUR offer. If that is a correct assumption, i am sorry to say that you will not be landing Pujols with that offer.

If he actually accepted that offer, could you let me know if there is an opening in your league next year?
(In reference to an Aaron Hill for David Price swap)

I could see either side of that trade, depending on keeper setup.

If it's based on where you drafted folks that might be the reasoning behind getting Cano/Morales. Phillips is potentially not a great keeper, since he's on the start of the decline and Pujols has been a 1st rounder for long enough that he should definitely cost you a 1st rounder. There's a chance that Cano is still a 2nd or later pick and Morales may have been a late pick. If this is the case, then it's a risk/reward and thinking of the future over the current year for the Cano/Morales guy.

Even if that's the case I'd still probably take the deal to get Pujols if you think your team is pretty strong this year. No problem with going for it.

I would take it. Like other people said Albert is better than Cano and to me the Morales Phillips is a wash. Do the deal
