Fair enough. I'll guess we'll have to wait and see, and then in 17 years when he retires with a career high of 21 HR, I'll bring up this thread and gloat about how I was right about Trout. :-b

I've watched Trout a bunch.. he's got 20+ HR power now as a 20 year old. There is good reason to think that as he enters his prime he very well could be a 30 HR guy, but it might come as a tradeoff for some speed.

I think 30/30 is very reachable for him in the future.

No, that's still too much power. I'm sure where you fellas are getting your info, but Mike Trout won't ever hit 30 HR in a season. He's a 20 HR, 50 SB kind of guy, ala Carl Crawford. He may hit 13 one season, and 22 the next, but If he hits 25 in any season, that'll be the most he hits.

Thats exactly what everyone said about Ellsbury before last year.

That's also what they said about Crawford, and his career high is 19. What's your point? I just don't think the power is there, and there is no evidence to suggest that he will ever hit 25 or more HR.

Have you ever watcher Trout hit?
He has plenty of power, and it will undoubtedly increase over the next 4-5 years.

I agree and see him as a potential 40-40 guy

so.. You're suggesting that he has more power than mark Reynolds? More than Ryan Braun? More than wright, longoria, kemp, mcab, cano, Gonzales (either one).. Etc. etc.

We get it, you think he has some pop. But, let's not exaggerate and pretend he's the next prince fielder.

I think 30-50 is more plausible. I could see him evolving from an 18-70 guy to 23-60 and then maybe to 30-50, but 40? I think not.

But that's not to say he can't be a 23-70 guy. I just think that if he does reach 30 HR power, his SB total will probably fall to somewhere between 40 and 50.

I say it because to me he looks like a cross between Eric Davis and Alfonso Soriano in their younger years. I'm not saying he's going to hit 40 HRs every year I think he has a shot to hit it maybe once, with a couple 30 HR seasons and a bunch of 20s.

He's on a tear right now but there's not much in the two years of minor's scouting reports that backs up anything like 40 HR power. take what he's doing right now with a sample-sized grain of salt. I really think Grady Sizemore with AVG is the best comp if you want to make those.
