I wouldn't take those 3 for him in a keeper. No way I'm giving up a cashed in lottery ticket for two guys I'm hoping find their talent and a pitcher. Too much risk there.

Risky, sure. But what if Trout crash and burns next year like Homser has done this year? There is risk in any trade that's made, some more so than others.

Why do people insist on comparing Trout to Hosmer and Co. from last year and others in the recent years past? Dude is so much more talented and has such huge upside, that as long as you consider the fact it's unlikely he keeps THIS pace up forever from this point forward, do you really think he's gonna struggle anything like even Brett Lawrie, much less Hosmer?

No, not really, but I didn't think Lawrie or Hosmer would struggle this much either....nor did I think JUp would suck so bad or Weiters, or, or, or, or.... I'm not really saying Trout will or won't just continue to produce but I'm saying I won't pay the price expecting him to just be a first rounder from the ground running...it's just extremely rare. People are already putting this guy in the HOF, srsly.

I'm far from doing that, believe me, and I would have to be in the right spot towards the end of the 1st in a deeper league to consider him so I'm with you there. Mainly addressing the (over) pessimism, under the umbrella/context of the trade offer in question in the last page or so.

Alright that's it.

This guy is the best player in the game at 20 years old.

Scary.

I've managed to turn my girlfriend into a pretty decent baseball fan and was explaining who Trout was while we were watching Sunday night baseball and now she has a mad crush on him (she also thinks he's super cute). Can't say that I blame her.
