Why is this site dead, and where to go?

Postby scb175 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 7:37 am

I like reading forums for my baseball fantasy fix throughout the season. This place used to be hopping before. Now it seems to be dead... 5 posts/threads a day. Where did everyone go?

Does anyone have any other sites like this, with a forum, where people are posting updated information every day? I have been using the Forums on rotoworld and they seem very good.

Thanks for any help.

Most of the daily conversations have been going in the "Closers" thread at the top of the page and the "Cheering, Venting" Thread that gets created every morning. I actually thought there has been plenty going on around here lately... :-?

Yeah... We have a daily thread here to talk about whats going on in fantasy baseball for that specific day. I think its fantastic. And the closers thread is updated almost hourly year in and year out. We had just 70 posts talking about yesterday's games in just the one cheering/venting thread. If anything it makes this forum a bit neater and easier to find things that were posted maybe a couple of days ago..

There has been a ton of talk in leftovers this year, and if it's anything like last year, that should continue in the venting and closers threads. I would urge all veterans of the site to post injuries and player updates in that thread along with this one. If I were new to the site, and needed info on a player, that's where I'd go.

I use the Cafe for quality. The knowledge and insight here is way better than pretty much every other FBB forum I've come across. I also am on the Rotoworld forums, but they love over-hyping guys over there...and there's a lot of flaming that goes on.

The site isn't dead, the posting population has just spread out a lot more. It used to be baseball leftovers got almost all non team specific posts and now they have spread it out more. To be honest I preferred it the old way and yeah it seems a bit dead now but the information is still here, just takes a little more work to find it.

Click on the "View Active Topics" link and it will cull the recent posts from all the forums you might be overlooking.

But to answer the original question, I also visit Rotojunkie's forums, http://forum.rotojunkiefix.com/forum.php, which are excellent but they had to unexpectedly move last year and are still in a bit of a rebuilding phase.

Also Rotoworld's, though theirs can be a little more tedious. Sometimes too much activity isn't a good thing either.
