I have E. Aybar as my main SS with Y. Escobar as my #2..
Ramirez was dropped and I've had the #1 waiver since the draft but haven't really needed to use it. I'm hesitant to use it on a player that would [probably] be a backup.. Is he worth it? Would he be my #1 SS over Aybar? I don't think so, but just curious about other opinions.
I wouldn't do it. I'm not usually an advocate for hanging on to the #1 waiver...if you have it, and there's a guy you want, use it. However, I just don't think you need Ramirez with your other two SS's. I think Aybar is going to have a big year.
I wouldn't. I think Aybar and Alexei are close, but Escobar is pretty decent and tends to be underrated.
I agree that in standard leagues you don't want to be too stingy in using the #1 priority, and I don't think it would be a huge loss if you chose to use it, but I just don't see this making much of a difference for you.
Ive had Shane Victorino and Kevin youkilis dropped in a few of my leagues, I'd hold onto your #1 priority for something better and more necessary for your starting core.
Team Izzy C Mauer 1 E5 2 Altuve 3 ARam S Cabrera CI LaRoche MI Drew O Melky, Cuddyer, Morse, Hunter, McClouth U Ortiz SP Lee, Fister, Miller, Fernandez, Lackey, RP Chapman Frieri Grilli Gregrsn Bnch 1 Hart 3 Mdlbrk 3 Rendon O Eaton P Lohse Nolasco Santana
I would hold onto your number one for a player that will be a starter on your team. Maybe you will get lucky and he clears waivers. If so, I would pick him up and drop Yunel.
In many cases, this makes sense, but I'd be holding on for something of value and need.... This is not based enough on need and the value is not convincing enough.
Expos... Gone, but not forgotten.
