Peavy looked horrible this spring and vs the Rangers first time out, Oh well.
I don't think you can look back at that as a bad move even if Peavy ends up having a better season. Zimmerman has the same amount of upside, plays in a better park/league, and is arguably less of an injury risk.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

I would make that trade even today. Heck, I'd make it even if Peavy has another strong start and Zimm has a clunker in his next outing. Zimm is a stud. Good move for you.

I'm ALWAYS high on Peavy, and will ALWAYS take a chance on him in hope that he can have another healthy season. His numbers havent been bad and his K/9 have stayed solid. He just cant seem to stay off the disabled list. I absolutely think Peavy can still be an ace IF he can stay healthy. And that is a pretty huge IF. I will be selling high though after his oakland and baltimore starts.
ya thats exactly my point. if nobody, not even the most die hard Peavy lover, trusts him enough injury wise, then who going to pay anything of value for him? as a waiver pick up hes better than you could ever hope for, but to try to trade and get a decent return... ehh not so much.

I think he's capable of a full season, but I'm not counting on it. I'm just enjoying each start. And its not like I can complain, he was one of my last picks in all my drafts, so if I only get 7 or 8 strong starts from him, then I'm ok with it. If I get more, then he was an absolute steal.
I'm gonna shop him around to see what I can get for him though.

Wondering the same. I scooped him in both leagues I'm in and I need dependable pitching. I can't imagine I'm going to get anything of quality for him at this point so I might as well hang on and hope for the best. He does play in a division with some really weak competition.
His command is legit and the stuff is still good enough for nights like these. He looked like a magician out there. The only question is can he stay healthy. I would hope onto him.

Plus, he's evolved a little bit out there. 16 of 27 outs were on breaking balls, as he relies less on his fastball, but still has it when he needs it. If he can keep mixing it up, he's going to be the WW player that wins your league for you.
Peavy is looking fantastic so far and as long as he stays healthy, he will continue to put up solid numbers. I wouldnt expect him to keep up his current pace of course, but I would certainly expect him to easily be a top 100 player this year... If he stays healthy.

Yea. He was throwing an 85 mph sinker with a ton of movement as well. It was a treat watching him carve apart the A's.
