Ervin Santana seems like a good Buy Low candidate - yes? He's pitching in the same division as Oakland and Seattle, and has the (soon to be) potent Angels line-up behind him.

What about Dustin Ackley? Buy low, or stay away?

I didn't like Santana going into the season so I personally wouldn't buy low on him. Having said that if you are a fan of his his underlying stats suggest that the bad start is just a fluke and not any change in skill so he would be a good target.

I'm not a fan of Johan either. I would much prefer a Lilly, Buchholz, McCarthy, Peavy, Edwin Jackson. All guys that were drafted around the same area as him.

I don't think even David Blaine could sell Rodney high.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

What are thoughts on Wainwright as a buy low candidate? How long before he turns things around?

Well, you want to buy him low now and not later when he does turn things around.

All speculation: But If Wainrights next few starts are bad, they could skip him in the rotation or place him on the DL with arm fatigue or some BS excuse. He's just a bit too soon removed from TJ surgery for me to like right now, I think in a few months time he will find his old self. But I'd wait for now in case the bottom falls out even more.

He seems to have strength just not stamina or sharpness/location, both of which will come in time.

There just isn't enough upside for a guy like Ervin. He's not the same pitcher that he was in 2008. He's a 4.00 ERA pitcher with 11-13 wins. I'll take him to complete my rotation but I don't see a reason to try and acquire him.
