Only one player (retired) won a World Series MVP award yet was never elected to an all star team, can you name him?

I thought this was going to be easy. Little hint, when he was named the WS MVP, it was thought at the beginning of the series that he would not even play, and he hit one of the all time memorable WS home runs.

Not Pat Borders. Ok he hit a pinch hit home run off Dennis Eckersley in his only plate appearance of that years world series, and is probably the number one highlight of that team for the 80's.

We have a winner. Ole Kirk never made the allstar game.
