You'd be thin at OF to do a trade like that, but turning a waiver wire pick-up into Ricky Romero is a pretty great thing.

I don't love it, but you win on value. The problem is that it doesn't mesh well with the structure of your team. I think Jesus loses a lot of value if you don't plan on inserting him into the C role eventually, and you already have Avila in there. Romero is a clear upgrade and a win for you, flipping Samard for Romero.

Reasons I am tempted to accept:

-I get BJ Upton back around April 20
-I get Carl Crawford back sometime early Mayish
-We have 3 utility spots so Montero is less of a logjam for me than usual
-I solidify my rotation, as pitching has been a key to my success in the past

Any other thoughts?

Well, after Gordon's game today, you might be less willing to do this, haha. Gordon might have finally arrived. While the trade is good, I'm just not sure it's worth it to lose out on Gordon.

Ehhhhh...I think I would stay pat actually. Very difficult decision, but I have a funny feeling about it. Feel free to not listen to me though. You have to follow your gut. If you have a funny feeling yourself, then you should go for it.

It's really tough because I feel like I have a very young, high upside mid-to-backend of the rotation and getting Romero would really stabilize things. Plus, Montero could have some value when he gets Catcher eligibility.

montero could be just as good as gordon and romero is leap years better then smardzija.
