Ok I asked who we should panic about..... (Yes, I know we shouldn't panic this early over anyone.) So now who should we be buying up from the WW or from trades ASAP?
Freese Jackson Bonifacio Pena Infante Encarnacion Schafer LaRoche Furcal
All guys who went either undrafted or were late round picks. Who here has the ability to become a 1st rounder? who will be worth a 1st-3rd round pick next year?
“Never argue with a idiot, because first they will bring you down to their level. Then beat you with experience.”
I like David Freese a lot. Especially since 3B this year is such a crap shoot IMO. Austin Jackson on other hand is getting extremely lucky at the plate right now, he will definitely come back to earth.

none of the above. Freese is the only one who even has a chance to crack the top 8 rounds, and thats only if he can manage to stay on the field for 140+ games. Id think for the most part all the rest of these guys remain late/mid round draftees at best.
=============================================================== edit - oh Austin Jackson... he also has an outside shot to crack the top 100 overall, but not a chance at the top 3 rounds. hes still going to have trouble getting on base because he hacks at everything, although his handful of walks this year so far is encouraging

E5 will have a decent year considering where he was drafted and his 3B eligibility. Pena is what he is, 30 hr will a terrible average. The rest of them? meh.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
Off the top of my head: Freese, Jackson, Pena, Edwin and Laroche will surprise people the most. Freese is the only real surprise there, though. The rest of those guys haven't changed my opinion of them. Jackson has a career .374 BABIP in 1300+ PAs, so people are eventually going to have to stop predicting a terrible average just because of his Ks. I got him cheap this year on a couple of teams. His K% is down a little bit and he's even taking walks. Things are looking very good in Jacksonland. Doesn't hurt that he bats leadoff ahead of two of the best power hitters in baseball.
Freese - Good upside if he stays healthy though I still think he only has 20 HR power. Jackson - Don't expect much difference from previous seasons Bonifacio - Probably drafted around where his upside is, bunch of speeds, adequate runs and nothing else. Pena - Yawn, but power is scarce so worth owning. Infante - Only worth owning in deep leagues Encarnacion - If he plays every day he is pretty valuable Schafer - Could be a 10 HR, 40 SB guy but again with mediocre R and hurt you in RBI/AVG so it really caps value LaRoche - Has never been more than a filler, don't expect it to change at his age Furcal - I doubt he puts up a full good season.
Pretty much all of these guys should be owned in 12 team mixed leagues even if it is only as a depth player on the bench. Not very many of them have top 8 round upside though imo. If I had to guess the best of the bunch I'd probably go with Encarnacion and Freese at this point.

Pretty much this. E5 is the one guy from this list that I could see having prolonged success.
