I think Laroche is the better bat, but no way he keeps up the pace he is on right now. And if you don't need steals (either because you are definitely going to win the category or lose it) I would say go with the better bat.

Without knowing what your team looks like I'd suggest trying to trade for someone who can help with steals and also contribute to other categories. A guy in my league is in the same situation you're in, so he picked up Crisp. I posed the question of who he'd choose to bench from his OF/Util spots to slot Crisp in, and he realized everyone else he had was a better overall contributor. So any steals Crisp makes would just be bench stats for him.
Care to share your team? If your lineup really has no speed then I agree with the reply above, that you might want to consider punting SBs instead.

If you're going to punt steals (and it sounds like you should) then Laroche is a great idea for you.

Yes, I'd do it.
Crisp might be able to get SBs... but he has to get on base first and so far this year, he isn't.
LaRoche finds himself in a good situation and I can easily see a return to decency with power in that lineup.
Help me in return?

I definitely have some players with the ability to steal, but like someone pointed out Crisp needs to get on base in order to steal. I'll watch him on the WW.. I'd rather put stock into quality hitting than quality running. This is what my team looks like with Crisp:
C: Mike Napoli
1b: Paul Konerko
2b: Ian Kinsler
3b: Evan Longoria
SS: Elvis Andrus
OF: Nelson Cruz
OF: Curtis Granderson
OF: Shin Soo Choo
Util: Coco Crisp
Util: Carlos Pena
Available FA: Jordan Schaefer, David Murphy, Adam Laroche
