Making Moves...... Changing Lanes... Get Rid of Someone?

Postby etl1692 » Tue Apr 10, 2012 5:37 pm

Any of these players better than Aviles, Espinosa, or Trumbo? I don't like how Trumbo doesn't play all the time. And he seems very hit or miss.... Aviles I really only like him because of his versatility, and Espinosa I just kinda like.

FA: Aaron Hill ; Jose Altuve ; Zack Cozart ; Chase Headley ; Lyle Overbay ; Darwin Barney ; David Murphy ; Alejandro De Aza ; La Roche

Batting:
C: J.P. Arencibia

3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Asdrubal Cabrera
OF: Matt Kemp*; Brett Gardner ; Mark Trumbo
Util: Delmon Young
Util: Danny Espinosa
BN: Mike Aviles (3B,2B,SS)
DL: B.J. Upton

League: 12 teams, H2H, Points System
Batting: R=1 H=1 2B=2 3B=3 HR=4 RBI=2 SB=2 CS=-1 BB=1 IBB=1 HBP=1 K=-1 GIDP=-1 TB=1

Doesn't make much sense to start Espinosa at UTL. In your points system a SB is worth half a HR, which is a lot. I'd prefer Alejandro De Aza over Espinosa by a decent margin.

I agree with you here, which is why I'm having a hard time getting used to this points system. SB's are a lot, and we also have total bases which even ups that stat +1!

Why Espinosa though? I feel like he may be the best out of Trumbo, and Aviles.

Looking over De Aza, I am somewhat intrigued... Maybe drop Trumbo for De Aza? SB's and Total Bases are so key in my league its crazy.....

So basically looking for a full time starter that steals bases and has a great on base %. (Which was why I was hyped I picked Gardner off of FA's, even though he doesn't start full time)

You want Aviles for his flexibility. If you're going to carry a bench bat it's nice to have someone who is eligible at 2B/3B/SS. I like Espinosa fine but 20/15 with mediocre AVG plays great at 2B, not so much at UTL. Trumbo might be a better drop but it's hard to get a firm sense of your scoring system.

I like De Aza or Cozart over Espinosa or Aviles.
