outfield choices (WHIR)

Postby osbtensor » Tue Apr 10, 2012 1:29 pm

I have issues with my outfield.. I have good players, but they don't all play everyday.

My outfielders: ellsbury, bruce, gardner, young, trumbo, morrison.

ellsbury and bruce are good. no problems there.. but gardner, trumbo, morrison are all in some type of platoon or injury resting issue. d. young plays most days, but i'm not sold on him yet.

this in a shallow-ish 10 team league so the WW options are okay. Trading is basically non-existent in this league.. it's a league with guys from my work and they're not baseball savvy and usually are hard to trade with as they think their players are very valuable. Points league so I'm not concerned with avg.

WW players: bourjos, duda, alonso, lahair, de aza, matinez, pagan, belt (just dropped today).

I'm thinking of dropping trumbo or young and picking up bourjos, duda, or belt. I'm concerned that bourjos or belt would put me in the same situation.. sitting often.

Any suggestions? Keep what I've got? Or some other ideas?

Thanks for any help!

Martinez and Pagan are going to get more playing time if that is the issue. I do think that Belt will deliever a nice stat line. I still have hope for gardner getting more PT. His stat line was 87 R, 7hr, 36rbi, 49sb. I still think that is decent value. Depends on your scoring system.

I'd drop Trumbo for Duda.

You're in pretty good shape, really, so I think you're fine if you don't make a move. I think dumping Trumbo for Duda is the move I'd make though.

I would consider dumping Trumbo for Duda, but Trumbo should have 3b and 1b eligibility, which should help.

Trumbo will eventually gain 3B eligibility, so it'd be a shame to drop him, because he'll be able to get plugged in in a variety of spots.

I would definitely try to think of a way to roster Lucas Duda, though. It's insane that he isn't already taken. That guy is hitting 30 this year. Mark it down.
