Dump who to activate Morse?

Postby lbblue » Tue Apr 10, 2012 12:58 pm

Here are my top choices:

Mark Reynolds (3B/1B): don't really want to ditch Reynolds with his 30+ HR power and 1B/3B eligibility but I don't truly need him (Morse and K. Morales both have 1B eligibility and ARam is my 3B). Here's the big reason why I'm considering dumping him and why he was still around for me to take him at #270 overall in my draft...strikeouts are a negative offensive scoring category (otherwise standard 5 x 5 roto...pitching has Holds as a 6th category). So Reynolds will not only be a problem in two areas, but pretty much category suicide for both AVG and Ks.

Rex Brothers: would be an easy choice but Holds are a scoring category in pitching and D. Robertson is the only other guy I currently have rostered who is going to accumulate Holds. It is a pretty easy category to make up later on as there are always Holds guys on the wire, but Brothers should be an excellent source of them, plus he Ks a lot of batters.

Henderson Alvarez: nice start vs. Bosox though the 'pen blew his W. The Ks aren't going to be there but I have a lot of high K pitchers on my roster. I like the idea of a young, upside pitcher like Alvarez at the back of my "rotation" because he should help keep my WHIP down. Probably pretty replaceable from the wire, but people love this guy.

Which of these guys would you drop and why?

Maybe look for a trade? Combine alvarez and reynolds and look for a solid pitcher and then activate morse.

Morse is not off the DL yet tho?

Take a look at mine? topic.php?t=443825

It would probably be Reynolds considering your league counts K's. Sure some other team is going to benefit from the HR's but the damage he does to their overall average/K's should be significant.

Agreed. Drop Reynolds. I doubt you would ever trust him enough to start him.

dont have to worry about it, he isnt coming off the shelf anytime soon...
Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong
