I have Hector Santiago and Greg Holland. Another team has Matt Thornton and Jon Broxton.
Is Santiago for Broxton a fair trade? Would it be useful for both teams, or is Santiago likely to keep the job, and Holland to take the job, and I should stay put. Or is Broxton worth more than Santiago and I am overshooting.
To clarify (based on some of the responses): I do not own two pitchers on the same team; that is the reason I am considering it. I own Santiago (CWS) and Holland (KC); he owns Thornton (CWS) and Broxton (KC).

I don't trust Broxton any longer. Stick with your team.

I could see this as being a pretty good move. I am not as down on Broxton as everyone else but it could be safe to have both guys for one team. I think Broxton and Santiago could be similar in value. If you don't do the trade then maybe you will have two closers but I personally don't see it happening in the near future.

Other thoughts? I think I'd rather have Santiago (if neither one of us has the backup), but this may not be a bad trade considering the questions in these bullpens. If people still think I should keep Holland and Santiago, I will do so, but that was the main question. Is the downgrade to Broxton worth it considering I lock up Royals saves (rather than taking 70% ChiSox and 35% Royals, which is what I think it is at this point).
