Trying to get an overall opinion on these guys. Who would you rather have for bottom of the barrel saves?

Joel Peralta

Alfredo Aceves

Brad Lidge

Jonathan Broxton

Lidge and Peralta have a smaller window, but Aceves and Broxton have better pitches behind them... What do you think?

I'm really not sure about the top 2. Currently I'm thinking Broxton > Aceves > Peralta > Lidge. I could be swayed on switching the top two, but Broxton's past dominance, plus the fact that he has the role outright, gives him the edge imo.

I'm not sure you can call Broxton and Aceves "fill in closers". Yes they are replacement closers, but these are 2 guys that could have the job the whole season.

For me it goes:

Broxton

Aceves

Peralta

Lidge

Broxton is not really a fill in. Soria won't came back this season. So it's his job to lose. The others will be removed.

1. Aceves has about 4-5 months if pitches well, or the whole bullpen sucks.

2. Farnsworth will miss 4-6 weeks so Peralta second

3. Seems like Storen will come back as soon as he can be reinstated, so Lidge is last
