Postby fierro33 » Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:51 pm

is it wise to trade superstuds like votto in such a shallow league?

ive been offered

CC

votto

if i did this trade i would have to drop someone. My staff is pretty solid. Also jeter is on the wire along with some other decent guys. But would u just do it for value?

I don't think you need it to be honest, so I would keep the superstar in a shallow league. There is a lot less need to do 1 for 2 in shallow leagues because the WW is usually pretty good. I mean Jeter on the WW, that's pretty crazy.

I would take this trade if it was my team. I mean Votto is a stud but so are CC and McCutchen in their own right. Your pitching would be set for the year with Verlander, CC, and Greinke. Go for it!

You don't think 20/40 is studly?

if i thought he would steal 40 then yes

but where do u get 40 from? more like 30 right? plus a weak BA? and hits in a poor lineup means not studly numbers all around.....maybe like a victorino with 7 more homers?

He could steal 40, but probably 30, since he's hitting 3rd.
I expect better then .259, probably .275.

i can agree with ur numbers..i might lower the sbs to around 26-28 though....275 seems to be maybe his range.....

so we are looking at 85/20/90/27 275....is that really studly? or is that closer to victorino?

If you look at them, Mccutch's numbers last year were right on par with Cargo's. And you would consider Cargo a stud wouldnt you?

2011 stats:

Andrew McCutchen, Pit OF
.258avg r-87 hr-23 rbi-89 sb-23

Carlos Gonzalez, Col OF
.295avg r-92 hr-26 rbi-92 sb-20

Other than the obvious BA difference (which we all believe will go up this year), he's going to be an all-star and one of the top NL outfielders. IMO
