Grab Bryce Harper? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Thu Apr 05, 2012 3:47 pm

So I have three moves I can make due to BJ Upton, Carl Crawford and Kyle Farnsworth being on the DL. Should I grab Bryce Harper with one of them? Chances he is called up in May?

He is a nice speculative add and in a keeper league he will likely have a lot of value when he does get the call at which point you could probably trade him off for something of need. But I don't think he is going to be all that useful outside of trade bait so if there is something better then i would likely grab that player instead.

With your other spaots i would recommend getting a multi-position eligible player or two to fill in for guys.

Unless he would be a keeper, and i doubt he would, i would pass.
Only 2 19 year olds in history have raked.
Guys like Griffey only went 15/60 at 19.

Farnsworth would be my only potential drop, but as stated, I think you might find an urge to drop for another hot player before he is ever called up. The only reason I would jump on this is when he is called up, you can sell HIGH and potentially use him as an add on to another player and get a more studly player that will benefit you.
