List of MLB beat writers to follow on Twitter

Postby Maris09 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 5:38 pm

I've found for both gambling and fantasy baseaball, following beat writers can often be the best/quickest way to find out about things. Here's a list I found for all MLB teams, if anyone is interested.

________________

UPDATE (April 4):

This list remains a work in progress, as there are several names that are likely missing. Once all of them are tracked down, we’ll re-post with the updates and also aggregate a Twitter list that you’ll be able to follow.

If you’ve never used Twitter as a handicapping tool, it’s about time you start. The breaking news updates can be worth a few bets per month, if not more, and provide you with an opportunity to get valuable information before even the bookmakers.

As usual, please send along any beat writer suggestions or omissions.

Does this twiiter thing help in fantasy baseball(i was thinking of joining for fantasy baseball alone)? Would you follow all these guys? Would you not be inundated with too many tweets? What other places are good to follow.

Ya I was hesitant to join twitter too, but it really is a great resource. Just have to be semi-selective on who you follow.

Excellent list but I will make a suggestion for SF Giants (which I follow closely) Amy Gutierez is fine but she would not be my first choice both in terms of speed but also in terms of analysis. She is not a beat writer and does the "down on the field and in the stands" interviews for the Home games (does not travel with the team) The person you want is for sure Andy Baggarly who has just moved to CSN Bay Area (twitter @CSNBaggs). He is one of the best writers I know.
If it is max two the for sure Hank Schulman (twitter @hankschulman) as you already have him.

The third is the Mercury News beat writer Alex Pavlovic (twitter @AlexPavlovic)

Ya I didn't even see Amy Gutierrez as the Giants one. She is annoying as all hell to listen to on TV.
Along with those names you gave for SF I'll add John Shea to the list.
