Fantasy owners are getting screwed with this shortened opening week anyway.

I agree. In head to head matchups you have some starters that don't even get a start and you play a guy that has Felix or McCarthy who get 2?

Ya....but if they go two weeks here, and then two weeks for the All Star week, all of a sudden you're looking at a total of only 21 H2H weeks. That's pretty short, and it's an odd number of weeks (not sure that matters). I think people would be annoyed either way.
At least there are 4 days of games in this first scoring period (plus the 2 Sea/Oak games and the 1 STL/MIA game).
Tough call either way. People aren't gonna like it one way or another.

I'm definitely in favor of keeping the season 22 weeks long, since it creates a complete round robin schedule for 12-team H2H leagues. Since one of the weeks will have to be shorter, I'm fine with getting it out of the way now instead of at the All-Star break. Good move by Yahoo.

You're right, people are going to find a way to complain regardless. I prefer the longer weeks to shorter ones, though, and I feel that most would agree -- I've yet to see somebody angry by the lengthened All-Star Week. ESPN has a super long Week 1 that started with the Japan games and goes all the way through until April 15th, which yes does shorten the season's length (in my league we're actually rolling with an 18 game season and 2 week playoff matchups, otherwise you're looking at a 20 week season provided you don't use the last week for your championship as many don't). I would be much more upset with a week where my players play 2 or 3 games than extending it to where they play 10 - 11 games. The MLB's screwy scheduling sure isn't helping things though.
