is this staff ok?

Postby great gretzky » Thu Apr 01, 2004 4:48 pm

I am basically hoping for my starting staff to keep me reasonable in wins and k's, and have closers middler relievers contribute as well. my hitting should be fine.

what can I expect out of this staff?

schilling, maddux, w. williams, sabathia, brad penny and myers.
rhodes, f. cordero, mantei, ryan wagner. with the way saves are distributed I should do ok there.

I am thinking do I need to upgrade at sp for the time being, or should I see how maddux, sabathia and penny work out?

If Williams stays healthy and Penny lives up to what scouts are saying about him this spring you're fine with starters. You relievers are all shaky. I would consider trading for a solid closer.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

not gonna happen. everyone's starters are shaky in this league. four rp spots 11 teams. the solid closer is gold. and the people who have them are like all they have.

You can always consider giving up a solid hitter for a solid closer.

By solid I don't mean Smoltz ot Foulke, I mean someone who will definetly keep the job like Kolb or Julio. You should be able to get those guys pretty cheap.

He-he, I think the original post already belongs in the other forum sinmce it's a roster question.

Mesa now has an 'NA' in Yahoo. Did he get dropped or something? Couldn't think of any other reason he wouldn't be available, if that's what NA mean.

In this case, NA means Not-an-Answer for your closer situation. ;)
