Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

OK...so I have avoided Aviles like the plague...
BUT...now he is the Opening day SS...and Iglesias is going to the minors to work on some "glaring deficiencies". He seems to be pretty well set to hold the position for the year, with his solid hitting and defense this spring.
He qualifies for 2B, SS and 3B in my league where I can swap starters daily.
I think he is quite valuable now...should I drop Kelly Johnson who I am hoping for a decent bounceback from, for Aviles who I think will trail KJ in most every category but will see a WHOLE LOT MORE playing time on my squad, by swapping him in on off days for Weeks, Jeter and ARod?
FYI...this will be my last allowable move until Sat the 7th when my 6 moves reset.
Thanks!

That is a tough call. Kelly Johnson should definitely out perform him this year. However I understand what you are saying about his position flexibility. He is a great guy to have on the bench for daily transaction leagues. He can fill in all over the infield on off days.
Since you have R Weeks, I see nothing wrong with dumping K Johnson and taking a chance with Avilies.

I would rather have Johnson if I had to choose one to play everyday. Since it looks like you don't have a MI spot, Aviles position eligibility gives him the edge. Jeter and ARod will be getting a lot more days off now that their age is getting up there. Aviles is a perfect bench bat for you.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Won't Nunez spell Jeter and Arod? He filled in very nicely last year.Arod and Jeter seem healthy and may not need as much time off. I think I go with Aviles. He's the starter so PT is a huge difference. Aviles has had a nice spring and I think once they get to Boston he'll fit in well with that lineup. He could be a huge sleeper.

Apparently Aviles will be hitting last, so unless you need more ABs he is hitting in front of some pretty good guys and should see some good pitches to hit.

And will score a bunch of runs if he gets on base.

I like Aviles...I drafted him for $1 in my auction league. The guy has hit +.300+ in both seasons where he had 400+ at bats, and that was with the Royals....I think he will do well in Boston.

I like Johnson. Remember, Aviles couldn't crack the Royals lineup. I don't think he will be the long term solution for the sox. Johnson is batting 2nd in a very potent lineup.

Well Aviles has cracked the lineup in Boston. At this point what happened in KC really doesn't matter. And I wouldn't call Ellsbury, Pedrioa, Youkilis, Ortiz and AGon a lousy five. Throw in a healthy Crawford and Ross has had a very good spring. I would say they match up pretty well with the Jays or anybody else for that matter.I think Aviles will fit in very nicely in Boston . Plus nobody pushing him for his job. He's pretty safe.
No I'm not a Boston fan but I do get to see them often.
