Trade Pitching for M Young? WHIR

I am arranging the finer details of a deal. I am really just trying to get a manager to pull off some draft pick inclusions in a deal where I get Michael Young (1B/2B/3B) for Max Scherzer (SP). I am tad concerned that I could leave myself a tad short in pitching, but it is a long season where I can hopefully jump on the right pick up or my other plan is trading either Napoli or Montero once Montero gets catcher eligibility. My goal in this trade is that I should be pretty set in all offensive positions even with an injury. I'd only need to go DL and pick up with Jeter at SS.

Your thoughts on MY Scherzer for HIS Young???
Perhaps I can swing Feliz or Wandy in deal, but he really pays attention to Yahoo rankings and Scherzer is the higher of the three pitchers.

i first admit that i'm not all too familiar with the nuances in keeper leagues (this year marks my first), but with a roster like your's, shouldn't you be gunning to win it all this season?

if so, where does young fit in this season? your lineup is stacked with no place for young to contribute this season.

conversely, Scherzer can contribute this season.

if i'm aiming to win the league this season, I'd keep Scherzer.

if i'm NOT aiming to win the league this season, then i won't just be trading Scherzer but looking to offload longoria and peddy.

I like the deal keeper or not. Young is old but he hits with guys on base all the time and drives in a lot of runs. It also helps that he can play 1st 2nd or 3rd. Do it

I agree...if you can swap starters daily...to have young to fill in at 4 spots in your lineup is huge. But with it being a keeper league...maybe you add in one of those other pitchers you mentioned...and try and get another SP prospect back?
