I had a trade for Carp but then the owner got scared and backed down. This was definitely my last opportunity to get rid of him at least for something, and now I am lost. I really don't want to drop Carp as most people say, because his return is no where near determined. I have an open DL spot so that is where he is now. Do I hold onto him? Drop him? Hold on to him untill more news is available? I'm just looking for some advice on what to do with this guy. I think I am going to hold onto him until another one of my players get hurt and need the DL spot. I can see Carp coming back later on in the year, and actually helping me out right befor playoff time, but I dont know if its worth that wait. Anyways as I stated Carp is on my DL for now, so I have a free spot on my team, and need some help deciding who to pick up. Here are my options.........
Mike Minor (SP) ; EriK Bedard (SP) ; Ricky Nolasco (SP) ; Jonathon Niese (SP) ; Chrs Sale (RP, but just got the SP job)
Batting: C: J.P. Arencibia 1B: Joey Votto 2B: Rickie Weeks 3B: Alex Rodriguez SS: Asdrubal Cabrera OF: Matt Kemp ; B.J. Upton ; Mark Trumbo Util: Delmon Young Util: Brett Gardner BN: Mike Aviles (3B,2B,SS) BN: Danny Espinosa (2B)
Pitching: SP: Tim Lincecum ; SP: C.C. Sabathia ; RP: Brian Wilson ; RP: Kyle Farnsworth ; P: Josh Beckett ; P: Max Scherzer ; P: Shaun Marcum ; P: Chris Carpenter ; BN: Edwin Jackson ;BN: John Danks ; BN Matt Capps
I messed up and drafted carpenter a little over a week ago. I have him on my DL too. I think he's a worthwhile person to have on the DL. I think in a H2H it's good to because he can pick up in week 6 or 7 or whatever and be competitive for you.

As for a pick up, I actually like Niese. The only thing that scares me is the Mets offense and a franchise in turmoil. Worth a waiver.
I agree....no reason to drop Carp while you have the room on the DL...someone important gets hurt...then revisit. In the mean time DO NOT DROP
And Niese is your man...will give you solid IP, Ks and WHIP and should win 13 to 15 games. While the Mets are nothing special ...they are not as bad as people think.

pick up minor
niese is awful and is on an awful league he will not help you at all.
HUH? they are in the same league and division....your logic makes no sense.
And Minor has never pitched more than 100 IP in the minors. So MM will probably not pitch more than 130 to 150 IP so the benefit from the slightly better ERA, k/9 and WHIP is lost when you cant pitch a full season.
