now that it seems he will not start the season as closer who is most likely to fill in for the mets and what is their long term answer for the rest of the season?

he's undergoing an MRI for his sore knee. Only time will tell, but if he's healthy then he's the closer. If you have room for it, Parnell and Rauch are speculative pickups just in case something happens.

Neither, it's been confirmed that Francisco is healthy and will be the closer to start the season.
