Drop Johnson for one of these options? WHIR 100%

Postby ATLbraves » Mon Apr 02, 2012 11:13 am

I traded Cozart for Jason Kipnis, and that trade goes through tonight. So I am considering dropping Kelly Johnson (my current 2B) for the best OF option on the FA. Do you think I should make this move, and if so who should I get?

12 team h2h keeper league (7 keepers max)

Alex Rios
Jose Tabata
Matt Joyce
Austin Jackson
Carlos Lee
Josh Willingham
Chris Helsey
Jason Bay
Yonder Alonso
Bryan LaHair
Alfonso Soriano
Angel Pagan
J.D. Martinez
Michael Brantley
Ben Revere
Denard Span

I am currently thinking either Lee, Alonso or Willingham. Leaning towards Willingham, but I like Alonso in a keeper.

What do you guy's think?

There are a lot of options there. I'm not that sold on dropping Johnson actually, but if you feel strongly about it, the three options you said were nice (I especially like Willingham), and would at least keep an eye on Rios/Tabata as the year goes on, because Rios could go 15/15, and Tabata has a decent speed/pop combo.

And if Heisey gets at-bats in Cincinnati, watch out. He may end up being the most rosterable of any of those OF choices.

Out of those OF, I would say I like Willingham the best. But I'm not sure if that will be a better option than Kelly Johnson (who has a Braves fan, can get ice cold, and then go torrid). But if your OF needs it, then do it.

Yeah, I would say you need some more OF, since it looks like Belt may start the season in the minors.

Lots of options available. Go with Willingham and maybe change that up if one of the others start the season hot.

Thanks for the help with mine. Out of those options, I would go with Willingham as well.
