I was offered Kershaw for Longoria. Because we need to fill positions vacated by the trade he is offering me Pedro Alverez back . I don't like him at all and there is nothing on the wire if I took him . He does have Chase Headley and Ian Stewart. I would have to give him Pomeranz. My pitchers after the draft are Verlander Matt Moore Ervin Santana Jurrijens Pineda ( dl replaced by Porcello ) Edwin Jackson Pomeranz Plus I have three closers. The kicker here is Longoria can be kept a total of four years Kershaw can be kept onl two more years . No extentions on either contracts. Think I need more pitching? I do have power with Miggy Hosmer Bautista Lawrie Hanley I could also offer him Bautista who only has two years left . Thoughts
I'm not trading 4 years of Longo for 2 of Kershaw, plus adding Pomeranz. You do need SP i agree. I might do Bautista/Jurrjens for Kershaw and a decent bat?

Yeah thats why I said the kicker. One problem I will have to address during the off season if I don't move Bautista or Longoria is third base or CI. I have Bautista in the outfield. Plus Miggy and Hanley will qualify at third . That will leave me with Lawrie, Miggy, Hanley, Longoria to fill three spots. Third base, CI and Utility. The league ruled yesterday to drop down to 23 roster spots by elimiating one MI and one CI spot. We currently all have 25 man rosters with no bench. Plus I have Hosmer who would move into the First base slot. I know its too early to think about it but it will have to be addressed and if I can make a move to improve and make that adjustment it would be a win win . I don't really have to give up Pomranez. I do have to give back a pitcher because he loses a pitcher. I might be able to include Broxton. He has three closers and I would still have Valverde and Motte. I wouldn't know what other pitcher to include.
You listed your power options but besides Bautista, there weren't any OFers there. Are you sure you want to move him? What does your outfield look like? You might consider moving Lawrie and using his golden potential as leverage to get an elite starter back. This is assuming you're going to compete for first this year.
I didn't want to take up too much room. My other players are Catcher Russell Martin MI Darwin Barney MI Mike Aviles OF Gardner OF Jay Bruce OF Cody Ross Ut Span OF Bautista OF Trout ( M. Byrd his replacement while he's in the minors )
If you're not competing this year, I would move Bautista and by the time you're ready to compete you have Hosmer, Miggy, Lawrie, Trout, Kershaw, Longo all in the mix. If you're competing this year, I would keep Bautista and try to move Lawrie for an SP, orrr... move Lawrie for a solid MI and then try to stream pitchers until Pineda is back.

I agree with this. Not trading Longoria, at least not this year. I think a lot of people could see Longoria taking a big step forward this year and I would hang onto him and see if it happens.
Bautista for Keshaw is ok IF you get a good bat back. Alvarez is not a good bat.

I would not take Alverez back either. His other CI infielders are Headley and Stewart. I have Bautista in the outfield so he would have to give me an outfielder back.Even his outfield is bad except for Braun and Granderson. BJ Upton who I would NOT trade Bautista for straight up, Fowler, Viciedo and JD Martinez . What about Upton and Kershaw for Bautista and Pomeraz?
Update on Kershaw talks. He's not moving from wanting Longoria for Kershaw. He offered me Kershaw, Aybar, Stewart and Granderson for my Edwin Jackson, Hanley, Longoria and Byrd. I rejected it.I counterd that with asking him to include Braun How about this counter offer. I give Longoria ( 4 years ) Jackson and Barney and get back Josh Johnson ( 4 years ) Braun( 3 years ) and Aybar ? He says the only way he trades Kershaw is if he gets back Longoria.
I'd do the last deal offered. You are getting a stud in Johnson as long as he stays healthy and the best player in the deal in my opinion in Braun. I would take it.
please help and read my last post in the thread. Thanks.
