Utley is now on the DL for yahoo. I really can't believe some people were freakin out. Funny thread over on Rotoworld of people freaking out that Utley has been on the official DL for about 24 hours and yahoo hadn't put him on the DL.

Some people really need to step outside and get some fresh air.

Yet many players are still not on DL according to Yahoo!'s provider?
ESPN has all of them on DL.

Can you clarify what deadline you're talking about?

And when you say Utley and Howard were placed on the DL yesterday "according to MLB", what source are you referring to? Because again, if it is the mlb.com website, that data is not only unofficial, by now I'm quite certain that it is editorial in nature and reflects information that is NOT official.

To be clear, all our data still indicates that neither Utley or Howard are officially on the DL.

Yeah I have to correct myself. I was wrong when I said official.
5 pm was the deadline for teams to set their opening day roster.
So it's technically not official deadline to place players on DL.
But in reality it is, and teams do place those injured players on DL prior to that deadline.
No team is going to play with only 24 players on their roster.
And if anyone pays attention to the 'not so official MLB site', will see that exactly whats happening.
So thats the deadline.
And ESPN had all those players on DL.

So am I the only one who has Ryan Doumit in their Yahoo DL today? Ironically, the reverse of the OP's scenario has happened.

Last night some news came out (I saw it on rotoworld) that Ryan Doumit had been placed on the DL. In one league I moved him to my DL and added Jonathan Lucroy. This morning, I had Doumit in my DL spot even though he was never eligible for it, but by a yahoo error. It turned out that he had never actually been placed on the real life DL. I honestly would prefer to hold onto both catchers, but continue to start Lucroy in the short term, letting Doumit's situation play itself out. Would it be wrong to leave him in that illegitimately gained DL spot?

No, it's not wrong to leave him there. It might very well be inconsequential, though.
