My A.Gordon/S.Santos For A.Wainwright/C.Rasmus

16 team H2H Points Leauge.
Preface this by saying I'm a lifelong Cards fan, though it has no influence on Colby.
My team name is also Wainwright's Wang, so I might be paying a bit extra. I think he's going to have a great season.

My pitching is so-so
C.J Wilson, R.Romero, D.Hudson, T.Cahill, P.Hughes, B.Matusz, D.Duffy

My OF is
Holliday, A.Gordon, D.Young, D.Fowler, B.Harper, V.Wells (Start 3, using 1 as UTIL I think)

And I have Betencourt, Santos, and Marmol.
- Seemed like I was the only one worried about getting 3 closers in the league...

So Wainwright would bolster my staff, and Colby project in my league as slightly better than Delmon Young, and either start in OF or UTIL unless Fowler/Wells is hotter.

Thoughts?

I like Wainwright, but that is too much.
You are trading 2 solid players for 1.
I would move a closer for a SP though.

Would Kubel instead of Rasmus change your mind at all?

Looking at the ESPN projections for my league, Alex Gordon is projecting for 470 points, and Rasmus and Kubel are both at 405.
So, only a 65 point drop.

Whereas Wainwright would be 370 Points and my 4th guy Cahill or Hughes are in the 230 point range.
Waino might even be a bit conservative at 14-9.

But I think someone would see the name Gordon and Rasmus and pick Gordon every time, but it's not a HUGE drop off I guess.
So long as Rasmus doesn't absolutely suck.

I think you shouldn't do it. I know you really like Wainwright, but I think Gordon is poised for a breakout year. Santos and Rasmus don't even compare, either.

Kubel makes it closer, i see 20 hrs 70 rbis.
But i don't like losing Gordon.
Why not move a closer for a SP?
It might not get you Wainwright, but i'm sure you might land a Beachy type.
