Anyone else on the Gregor Blanco bandwagon?

Postby Newkie » Thu Mar 29, 2012 11:35 pm

I have been watching this guy the last week or so, and I am waiting for 1) Yahoo to put him on the FA list, 2) he makes the team? (Giants) Is he worth a roster spot, and is he going to get enough AB's to even think about storing him on my team?

My positional team is as follows:

McCann
Billy Butler
Ricky Weeks
Alexei Ramirez
Bonifacio
Morse (DL?)
Delmon Young
Braun
T. Hunter
Chris B Young
Choo
Joyce

He'll probably make the team as a fourth outfielder but I doubt he gets enough playing time to be fantasy relevant unless there is an injury or some major ineffectiveness. I'd guess he gets a start here and there, gets used as a defensive replacement if huff or belt play the outfield, and gets some pinch hitting. He's got the speed to be fantasy relevant if he gets enough ABs so I'd just keep an eye on them if something major happens in the SF outfield.

I used him at the end of the year last year when I was desperate for sb's. Unless you play in a very large league, he's not going to play enough w/o an injury or 2 to be relevant in 90% of mixed leagues. Having a great spring, but he's probly not as good as he's looking right now

From what I've heard, Bruce Bochy. :-b

Seriously though, he shouldn't be on your radar as it appears you're in a std sized league.

gregor blanco should prolly not even been mentioned on this forum haha, he was the future OF of the braves, couldnt cut it, got traded to KC and his career was suppose to change and now he might finally make a club out of the spring but i wouldnt grab him unless he starts everyday and already has 10 sb
