I think you have to take that trade. You gain huge. And I take Upton over CarGo, but I wouldn't fault you for going the other way.

I think you make that trade. You are getting the best player in the deal, assuming you go with Upton.

Absolutely do this deal.
CarGo or Upton will positively affect all the hitting stats, while hamels will not help w/ holds/saves. A format like that always takes hitting over pitching. Think of it his way, you're trading hamels straight up for CarGo or Upton and then trading 2 waiver wire fodder types for Wainright and opening up a roster spot. Thats a win all day. As to which one you get between Cargo & Upton, they're pretty even in my book.

I'm leaning towards Cargo because he provides the same power with a better average and more steals. Anyone disagree?

I like both, but I'd dissagree that CarGo offers the same power + better average/steals.
Upton is only 24 and his best years are ahead...He offers more power potential and is more consistant in his home/road splits which can be a big deal in H2H (CarGo is awesome at Coors, but pretty average away). Also, CarGo is coming off a wrist injury, which is why is numbers were down from 2010.

Looking at the rest of your team, you should be pretty set w/ steals, but might not have the growth in power from McCutchen and a there will probably be some regression in power from Ellsbury. I think Upton is a better bet with the team you have, but if you like CarGo better, there's nothing wrong with that.

My bigger question is, how in the world you ended up w/ Braun, Ellsbury, McCutchen, Kinsler, Lawrie & Hamels in a 10 team league? Do you draft w/ morons? Did you draft before Braun's suspension was lifted? Is this a Keeper League? (if so, Upton is your guy)

I chose Upton and I'm hoping there is still room for more power growth! Any thoughts???

Regarding my league, I got Braun pick #5, Ellsbury #16, Kinsler #25, McCutchen #36, RZimmerman #45 & Lawrie #56. The guys in my league seem to overvalue pitching and I took my first pitcher Madison Bumgardner in the 8th round which helped me get all of the big bats I have. Also I acquired Hamels for Zimmerman straight up.
