I have the number 1 waiver in our league. Players clear tomorrow morning. My team is below. I have nobody to back up 2B, 3B, or SS, so Aviles is an attractive option. I'll also be leaving the C slot empty until Montero gets C eligibility, so I'm eyeing up Wilson Ramos.
First: who would you drop? Second: who would you add with the waiver? Mike Aviles Wilson Ramos Jonathan Broxton Justin Morneau Lorenzo Cain Ryan Roberts Brett Jackson (could get called up very shortly)
I'm leaning toward dropping probably Teheran. Doesn't look like he'll make the Braves starting rotation. What would you do? Aviles and Ramos are tempting, but Morneau's hitting like the Morneau of old recently. If he's over his concussion, he's dangerous.
12 Teams H2H Points One year C: Jesus Montero 1B: Freddie Freeman 2B: Robinson Cano 3B: David Wright SS: Starlin Castro OF: Carl Crawford OF: Corey Hart OF: Chris Young Util: Ike Davis BN: Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Yoenis Cespedes, Matt Joyce

Chasing wins is a losing proposition. The rest of Nova's peripherals can be had off the wire all year. Broxton may close all year, so he's the more valuable speculative add.

The #s about him having tremendous run support as well as his lack of k's and a bit of luck are totally true and I believe...gave him the year he had. Take those horrible peripherals and add to it a league with tape on him...and the potential for a sophemore slump even if he some how stays in the rotation (injuries can happen) is freak HUGE. But most likely he will be pitching with the homeless AAA Yanks (scranton stadium under season long renovation).
The latest talk is that Hughes may be the #3...regardless he is ahead of Nova. So that goes...CC, Kuroda, Hughes, Pineda, Nova (with Sweaty Freddy in the bullpen waiting for Nova to take his bad spring north)
Then you have Pettitte. Not only is he a yankee great...but he is a pitchers pitcher...he can win without a big fastball. All the word from camp is he will be ready by may...and he already looks better than Nova.
So come May 10th and the yanks rotation looks something like...CC, Kuroda, Pettitte, Hughes, Pineda...and Sweaty Freddy takes the spot start/long relief/mop up roll...where does that leave Nova?
